New River Valley Community Church

OUR STRUCTURE

Jesus Christ is the head of New River Valley Community Church. As an organization, we desire to reflect His priorities in all we do and how we do it. No decision is ever made that would knowingly contradict any of Jesus' teaching. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we endeavor to discern God's direction for us as a church. When a plan is put in place, we keep one eye on our effectiveness, and the other on the next step God seems to be showing us.

NRVCC is guided by the Directors, guarded by the Elders, and gifted by the membership.

The Directors

New River Valley Community Church is led by a team of Directors who set the direction of the church at large. The NRVCC Directors are the Senior Pastor, founding staff members, and other licensed or ordained ministers appointed by the Senior Pastor. Currently, the team of Directors includes:

Senior Pastor
Small Groups Director
Student Ministry Director

The Elders

The elders serve as an advisory team, providing spiritual counsel and support to the Sr. Pastor and Directors of NRVCC as requested. The Elders also assist in handling matters of conflict resolution, church discipline, and restoration, thus freeing the Pastor and Directors to continue leading and directing the ministries of NRVCC.

The Members

At NRVCC the Directors are the administrators and the people are the ministers. The Directors and Elders provide oversight to the church as a whole - guarding and protecting the vision, values, and purpose of New River Valley Community Church – and the people are equipped and trained to “do the work of the ministry”. It is unrealistic to expect the Directors to be hands-on in every area of ministry or to minister personally to every individual's needs. Our church is structured to allow for the people to become “ministers” to those that they are closest to and do life with.

The Financial Stewardship Team

This team provides financial leadership and accountability for New River Valley Community Church. This team provides financial counsel to the Sr. Pastor, Directors, and Trustees regarding budget, loans, distribution of money to various ministry areas and purchases as well as overall financial management of the church. The Financial Stewardship Team also provides relevant communications to the church membership.

The Trustees

The Trustees provide financial counsel to the Directors, determine salaries, and serve as legal trustees with regards to purchasing land, securing loans, etc.

Ministry Leaders

Each ministry leader is represented by a Director at weekly Director meetings. They are the influencers – the men and women who make the church work.
